A

droughts, floods

20
Q

human impacts on ecosystems

A

intoduced speices, overcropping, chemical pesticides

21
Q

Part of nerons that recive the impulse?

22
Q

Chemical between neurons?

A

Neurotransmitters

23
Q

2 types of neurons?

A

Motor, sensory

24
Q

What do motor neurons do?

A

They carry the messages from the brain to the muscles

25
What do sensory neurons do?
they carry messsgaes to the brain/ spinal coird, the impulse comes form the sensoe organs
26
what are effectors?
effectors are muscles or glands that put the nerve impulse into action.
27
what is the space betwen neurons called
the synapse
28
Types of nerro trans mitters? (clue: there is 8)
adreniline (fight or flight) noraadreniline (oppisite to adrniline) dopamine (happy/ pleasure) seratonin (mood) gaba (calming) acetycholine (learning) glutamine (memory) endorphins (after stress )
29
what is the brain stem called?
medula
30
what links the nervous system and the endocrine system?
the hypothalomus
31
hwat are hormones?
chemicals
32
what is homeostasis?
Homeostasis works with temprature, water salt levels and glucose, this work is constant (fact; home= controlls the home/body)
33
what happens when you have high blood sugar
Your pacrase detects thre high blood sugars, it releses INSULIN, this makes the muscels and liver to take the sugars from the blood and turn it into GLYGOGEN (which is stored in the liver)
34
What happens when you have low blood sugar?
Pancrease detects the low blood suagers, ti releses the hormone GLUCAGON, this hormone causes the suager GLYCOGEN to be transformed back into GLUCOSE/ SUGARS and is released into the blood
35
Community def?
all the differnt populations of organisums
36
what is a trophic level?
The position an organism occupies in a food chain
37
Herbivore?
feed on prducers
38
carnivore
feed on herbivore
39
scavenger
consume carrion, dead fleash
40
detrivore
donsume detrius, small particals of dead plants or animals
41
decomposer
break down dead animals an dplants
42
parasites
live and feed on host organisums
43
44
Photosynthisis equation
carbon dioxide + water + light energy → glucose + oxygen
