What was the main objective of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

A

Rights included:

All people, whatever their gender or religion had the same rights.

  • Freedom of movement, speech & choice
  • Equality between genders
  • Basic needs (like health, sanitation, school, clean
    water and shelter)
  • Freedom to life and not be harmed
  • Right to a fair trial (innocent until proven guilty)
  • Freedom of slavery
  • Freedom to participate in the government
  • The UDHR is part of the law in countries worldwide
