Anatomical Position
anterior position
Body facing forward
Medial
Nearer the midline of the body

Farther from the midline of the body body

Proximal
means the part of the body that is closer to the center (the torso) than another

means the part of the body that is further away from the center (the torso) than another

Refers to the front of the body

Refers to the back of the body
Transverse plane
is an imaginary plane that divides the body into superior (upper) and inferior (lower) parts

Sagittal plane
is an imaginary plane that divides the body into right and left
parts
Coronal Plane
is an imaginary plane that divides the body into anterior (ventral) and posterior (dorsal) parts
{frontal}

Refers to the front of the body

Mid-sagital
Plane that separates the body into two equal halves
Para-sagital
Plane that separates the body into two halves (not equal)

on the opposite sides (ex. right arm left leg)
