What led to the development of the Aztec Civilization was an alliance building. Texcoco and Tenochtitlan formed an alliance together and had a lot of power and resources. As a result, Triple Alliance formed. Later it became the capital of the Aztec Empire.

- a former lake in the Highlands of modern day Mexico
- The Aztec built their capital city : Tenochtitlan city (modern day Mexico city (also the biggest city in North America))

- Mexico city is on a former lake called Texcoco. Today, the city has 1800 pumps to help remove water. However, rain water doesn’t reach the aquifers.
- People don’t have access to fresh water. Have to rely on trucks to bring water. City buildings are skinking, destroying themselves over time
- People are creating systems to harvest fresh water
