Test Circulatory System Flashcards

1
Q
  1. What heart structure separates the right and left side of the heart?
A

A. Septum, the septum is between the left and right side of the heart and it keeps the side from mixing. Pg 68

Q
  1. What is not a function of the circulatory system?
A

C. The Cardiovascular system does not create blood cells. The Cardiovascular system carries materials to the cells, it carries waste away from the cells, and it transports cells that attack diseases.

Q
  1. What causes blood pressure?
A

C. The force with which the ventricles contract. The ventricles pump the blood out of the heart and into the body. The faster the ventricles pump out blood the higher the blood pressure will be. Pg 68

Q
  1. What blood vessel does rich oxygenated blood leave the heart in?
A

The aorta. Because the left ventricle pumps the blood into the aorta and the blood has already been through the lungs. Pg 63

Q
  1. What are the pulmonary veins and arteries?
A

11 and 2 are the arteries. 13 and 12 are the veins. They each have a vein and an artery on each side of the heart. Pg 73

Q
  1. What is structure is B, what blood vessels lead to B, and what is the oxygen levels in B.
A

Structure B is the left atria. The pulmonary veins lead to the left atria. The oxygen level is high. 73

Q
  1. What is the letter and the name of the structure that blood goes after the right atria?
A

F and the right ventricle. The blood is pumped to the right ventricle after the right atria. Pg 73

Q
  1. What is structure E. What would happen if it had a hole in it?
A

Structure E is the septum. The septum separates the deoxygenated blood from the oxygenated blood. If it had a hole in it the blood would mix and the cells wouldn’t get enough oxygen. Pg 68
