Test for Anions Flashcards

(9 cards)

1
Q

What is the test for carbonates?

A
  • Add dilute HCL to test sample
  • Take the gas that’s produced and run it through limewater
  • If carbonates ARE present, the limewater will turn cloudy
    (CO2 test)
