Presuppositions of NLP (6 of them)
These are the foundation principles of NLP .they have been modeled from key people who consistently produced superb results as well as from systems and natural laws. A set of powerful skills.
- Respect for the other persons model of the world.
- The map is not the territory.
- Mind and body form a linked system.
- If What you’re doing isn’t working, do something else.
- Choice is better than no choice.
- We are always communicating.
- The meaning of your communication is the response you get.
- There is no failure, only feedback.
- Behind every behavior there is a positive intention.
- Anything can be accomplished if the task is broken down into smaller bits or chunks.
What is the law of requisite variety
A lot of requisite variety is a presupposition of an LP. It States that the system or person with the most flexibility of behavior Will control the system. It is also the first law of cybernetics.
The Individual with the highest amount of flexibility of behavior will have more choices in the more choices you have the more freedom he will fill in the better a quality of life you can have.
Presuppositions of n.l.p. My class version
- Communication is redundant, inner and outer communication is a description of inner pictures sounds and feelings.
- The meaning of your communication is the response that you get.
- People respond to their map of reality, not to the reality itself
- The prerequisite variety; the element in a system with the most flexibility will usually be the controlling element.
- People work perfectly, no one is wrong or broken, it’s simply a matter of finding out how you are effectively producing undesirable results so you can change your strategy to one that produces the results that you want.
- People always make the best choice available to them at the time.
- Every behavior is useful in some context. Most behaviors aren’t bad, simply applied in the wrong context.
- Choice is better than no choice.
- Anyone can do anything.
- People already have the resources they need, what they need is the access to access these resources at appropriate times in places.
- There is no such thing as failure, only feedback. Every response can be utilized.
- Positive intent. Behind every behavior is a positive intent.
List 5 things to match in getting rapport
- Match the modality, by discerning someone’s modality the VAK it is possible to communicate in a way in which they see, hear, feel, and understand best.
- When we replicate the physical actions of another such gestures and moments postures or facial expressions it undeniably send a message to the unconscious mind that we are like them.
- Match their voice in language. By matching the way someone sounds, such as tone, and tempo, if they use specific words you use them after, this is rapport reinforced
- And match their breathing. By breathing at the same rate or same location high meter low there’s several it’s a subtotal method but with strong impact.
- Match the source of the pieces of info they use in chunks if you are speaking with someone who is always talking about specific details, then buy matching that style , you build rapport.
- Match their common experience. My matching other peoples similar intense report is built quickly.
Is cross over mirroring and when is it useful
Crossover mirroring is also a form of matching technique. While mirroring is a precise reflection, matching is a more general image of the other person. When matching words of another person, the exact words of the other person will not be used. Instead, you will try to use similar words to convey the meaning.
Another useful technique is to use crossover mirroring. In crossover mirroring, when a person changes one part of his physiology, you can mirror it by changing some other part of your Neuro-linguistic physiology. That means, if the person moves his leg, you can do a crossover mirroring by moving your hand. You can match the breathing of a person, by moving your fingers with the same frequency as that of the breathing. Such Neuro-linguistic techniques will help you implement the mirroring and matching techniques without making the person consciously aware of your behavior.
What are the eye patterns got s normal right handed person
eye accessing cues
The eye pattern diagram above represents the eye patterns of a normally organised or normally wired right handed person. By normally organised or normally wired we mean that the person is not reverse wired or reverse organised which will be covered in more detail later. For simplicity we’ll give the normally organised right handed person a name by which we will refer to him subsequently - Jim.
When we think about things visually (or make pictures if you prefer) our eyes tend to move upward.
When Jim looks upward and to his left (or to the right as you look at him) he is most likely to be remembering pictures of things he has seen before. In NLP this is described as accessing Visual remembered or Visual recall (Vr).
Conversely, when Jim looks up and to his right (or to the left as you look at him) he is most likely to be accessing Visual construct (Vc) and constructing pictures of things he has never seen before, imagining how something could look.
When people think about things auditorily i.e. sounds including spoken words, their eyes will tend to look left and right as they look towards one ear or the other or their eyes may move rapidly from ear to ear.
When Jim looks toward his left ear (to the right as you look at him) he is most likely to be accessing Auditory recall (Ar) and remembering sounds he has heard before.
Conversely, when Jim looks toward his right ear (to the left as you look at him) he is most likely to be accessing Auditory construct (Ac) and thus imagining, or constructing, sounds he has never heard before.
In the lower quadrant Jim has Kinesthetic (K) on his right, and Auditory digital (Ad) on his left.
When Jim looks down and to his left he is most likely accessing the Auditory digital channel - the channel in which he hears the words he says to himself inside his own mind or, if you prefer, hears his own thoughts. This may look/sound/feel unusual in written form but it’s perfectly natural and something most people do all the time.
And last, but not least, when Jim looks down and to his right, or to the left as you look at him, he is most likely accessing Kinesthetic, his feelings.
What is the primary representational system
The Primary Representational System is the representational system that someone most often uses to calculate experiences and show them to the world. Calculate does not always mean thinking or logic though. It can be via pictures, feelings, sounds.
