General Sam lined us up along the Bayou with the calvary at our flank. We charged in with a violent yell
and deafening cannon fire. The Mexicans were caught off guard and were soon on the run. It wasn’t long
before we had taken the battlefield and that yell turned into a cheer. The victory and Texas was ours.
