What problems are caused by over grazing and over cultivation?
This damages the vegetation which leads to soil erosion making it difficult to farm and harvest which could compromise livelihood for substance farmers or put strain on exports due to lack of yield. Also the soil takes years to reform where nothing can be done to revive it.

What are the problems caused by excessive irrigation?
The soil fills up with water. Then when the water diaries up a surplus of concentrated salts and minerals are left that kill the plants. (Salinisation)
What benefits does tourism bring to the Thar desert?
Employment, extra incomes, at the cost of overdevelopment which may damage the fragile environment.
How do the GFDDP plan on restoring the ecological balance of the region through conserving, developing and harnessing land?
- Planting blocks of trees and fences beside the farmland , road and waterways to prevent the moving of sand dunces damages to them.
What has the Thar Desert National Park been created to do?
To protect (approx) 3,000 square km of arid land (dry land) and the endanger rare wildlife which is now adapted text realm conditions.
