Q

What does it mean you should do when you start getting excuses to not do something that you don’t want to put the work in for?

A

There’s a part in the brain that is your willpower and it grows when you do things that are hard that suck but doesn’t grow when things are easy. You can tell it is being activated when you start getting excuses in your head. Keep doing something when you notice the excuses forming and you will benefit with the task but also with your overall willpower.

Q

What should you consider when being presented with multiple options?

A

Just like how the girlfriend you choose is going to be the gf you get in arguments with, when you get presented with two options, the one you don’t pick is the one you will have to live in regret of not doing. Pick the option you will regret yet. Lay out all the choices you have to make and look both in terms of how it feels to be doing each option but then also how it feels to not be doing each option.

Q

There are too many habits you have to implement at the same time. What should you do to work around this?

A

All of these things are good and you should do them, but you can’t possibly follow all of these things - unless you make them a habit because then it’s automatic. Create a tracker to get to 25 days of doing something and then you can stop being so active about it.

Q

What should you do when you keep doing a negative behavior when you’re not feeling at your most motivated?

A

Abstinence is the only way. If you give into something once it will happen again and again and won’t stop until you randomly become self aware about it. This is the same with positive things so you must be abstinent of NOT doing the behavior.

Q

I need better conditions to be happy than the average person. What does that mean for my future?

A

People only put in work for their lives until they’re satisfied and nothing more. I am going to put in more work to be able to be satisfied than the people around me. However, that means I’m going to have a better life than the people around me. This is an advantage.

It’s completely up to you do make anything actually happen. You only really make changes when you make a big decision. Only got Hailey bc you made a big decision to switch schools. 57
