A

The bed and banks within which the river flows (think of it as the container which carries the water)

A

The extensive area of land on either side of the channel.

What is the upper course

A

The river is mainly eroding with lots of abrasion, attrition and hydraulic action. Much of this erosion is downward

A

The river is still eroding but it will be mainly be lateral (sideways)
