Biennium
The period from December 1 of an odd-numbered year to November 30 of the next odd-numbered year.

At least 3 hours (.1) must be from Ethics
3+ Hours of ethics must be completed EVERY biennium
You cannot use excess Ethics CEUS to satisfy the next biennium’s Ethics Requirements
YOU CAN count excess of Ethics CEUs toward the total CEU requirement.

- 10 hours carry over to next biennium
- potentially 7 hours of ethics + 3 others carry over.
- You still have to get 3+ hours of ethics in the next biennium

What are the Approved Sponsors, Courses, and Programs (by the board)
- Accredited colleges or universities (within the scope of psychology) with semester/quarter credit.
- APA and APA-approved programs
- AMA programs related to psychology
- National/Regional associations that offer courses and programs

Earn up to 15 hours
- Clock hour of instruction = 1 Hour
- Total Hours / x Instructors = # rewarded to each instructor (e.g. 30 hours / 3 instructors = 10 per instructor)
- Credited to the instructor every 4 years.

up to 10 hours can granted for one article or chapter from the previous biennium.

- Publish in PSYCHLIT
- A chapter or more in text or trade book for psychologists (published by a commercial publisher, state, or national psychological association)
What is the exception for obtaining CEUs
When are your CEUs prorated? On what schedule ( at least how many hours can be earned per quarter )?
- If you receive a license within 2 years of the first application for biennial renewal.
- Licensed in another state, your hours will be prorated on a quarterly basis from date of PA licensure to the next renewal date (at least 3.75 hours or .375 CEUs can be earned per quarter)
