a group of countries that have Made an alliance because of shared interests.

the use of ambushes and raids by small armed groups used successfully in Cuba by Castro and by the vietcong in Vietnam

the committee in the US house of representatives that pursued and investigated those subjected ob being involoved in “un-Amercan” communist activity
