250,000 veterans demanded their bonus of $500 in 1932 rather than 1945

Hoover refused to see them so sent the army to attack their camps

Hoover claimed the marchers were communist of criminals - public disagreed and we’re annoyed by the President

Works Progress Administration - created jobs did unemployed office workers, artists, actors and photographers

Resettlement Administration - helped small-scale farmers with loans and moved 500,000 families to better homes
