Homer
- far more violent and physical in their intervention
- odyssey: Posideons curse in book 9
- often directly appearing to intervene such as Aphrodite in book 3 or Apollo in book 16 disorientating and disabling Patroclus

Where as

Hesiod
- serve slower and more cold revenge such as for a man who is lazy his property shall loose value and he will be forced to sell it

A

Homer
- Iliad 14: Zeus is easily distracted from the battlefield by Hera and Odyssey 1 Athena can only help Odysseus return as Peosideon is attending a festival
- the gods are ignorance and not omniscient in their power

Hesiod
- entirely omniscient and are always watching Human action which serves to encourage individuals to not be bribed
