Q

What forms the Peritoneum?

A

Parietal = lines body wall.
Visceral = covers organs.
Peritoneal cavity = contains serous fluid.
Retroperitoneal organ = push against post abdominal wall (partly covered by peritoneum).
Intraperitoneal organ = fully covered; stomach and s.intestine.

Produces bile.

17
Q

What does the gall bladder do?

A

Secretes and concentrates bile (40-70ml).

18
Q

What does bacterial flora do?

A

Ferments undigested carbohydrates and synthesises vitamins B and K.

19
Q

Process of chemical digestion?

A

Chyme in duodenum > fat protein secretes CCK > pH lowered, secretin released

20
Q

What converts trypsin to trypsinogen?

A

Enterokinase
