Why do conservatives believe in a capatilist system?
Most practical and efficient economic system as hystorically it is proven to generate wealth and improve living standards.
Why do conservatives believe the free market is organic?
Individuals naturally treat each other opposing a designed society
Why do conservatives support property rights?
Property rights are the cornerstone of a stable society because ownership encourages responsibility and discourages social support which upturns social order
Why was Burke wary of unregulated economic liberalism?
Leads to unfettered accumulation of wealth undermining communal bonds, integral to upholding social order leading to support some state intervention such as protectionism
Why may the different T and ONC views on the economy not be as significant?
TC was articulated prior to the economic inequalities of industrialisation. Given changed context, changing to conserve may have led to them supporting similar policies

Yes due to pragmatism and respet for tradition but believes in greater paternalism to ensure welfare of all mebers in society.
Why was ONC support for paternalism in economy pragmatic?
Widening economic inequality, change was necessary to conserve the hierarchial stable nature of society and prevent a socialist revolution

Libertarianism resulting in them advocating minimal state interfention and laissez faire capitalism.
How does laissez faire capitalism enable freedom?
Limited taxation, low public spending and little regulation so individuals were free to act how they wanted

Protecting individuals from force, therft, fraud, enforcing contracts rather than restriuting wealth or managing the economy

It is the most efficient and moral system as it didn;t interfere with individuals’ free choice

It is a fundamental rights that promots self-reliance as people are inclined to take of their property and make us of it, increasing growth.
