What was the Enabling Act and when was it passed?
The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to pass any law he wanted without having to ask the Reichstag or the President for their consent. It was passed on 23rd March 1933.

How did Hitler manage to get 2/3 support in the Reichstag for the Enabling Act?
Hitler managed to get 2/3 support in the Reichstag for the Enabling Act because the Communists were not present, the Nazis made a deal with the Centre party, and there was intimidation by the SA.
Additional information: The SA and SS members surrounded the Reichstag during the vote.
What does Gleichschaltung mean and how did Hitler implement it?
Gleichschaltung means ‘bringing into line’. Hitler implemented it by taking over all local governments, removing Jews and ‘political enemies’ from jobs, closing down Trade Unions, setting up youth clubs, and passing laws against the formation of new parties.
Additional information: Germany became a one-Party State after the implementation of Gleichschaltung.
