The Eye Flashcards
(9 cards)
What is the cornea?
Focuses light on the retina
What is the pupil?
‘Hole’ (transparent part) which light enters through
What is the iris?
Makes pupil larger/smaller depending on amount of light entering the eye. (Dark= large pupil)
What is the aqueous humour?
Thin, transparent fluid. Provides nutrition and maintains eye
What is the retina?

What is the optical nerve?
It sends image to the brain electrically.
What is a blind spot?
Where nerve leaves retina so lacks receptor cells.
What is an optical illusion?
Coloured, light, patterns. They create a deceptive image.
