A

1) Secure the safe and effective running of the pharmacy
- if not safe take steps
- if unsure ask for help,owner/manager
- If not possible may need to close
- need to be comfortable that the Pharmacy is safe

  • Display RP notice - must be clear and visible
  • if RP absent but responsible then don’t change notice - Name,GPHC NO. And statement to say that your are the responsible pharmacist in that pharmacy at that point in time

Principle 3 of RP

A

3) Complete the pharmacy record register
- Pharmacy record must be accurate
- only pharmacist to enter
-if alterations need to be made - need to identify who made alterations
-do not cross out
-back up necessary if GPHC inspector requires record

A

Written/electronic:
-RP Name and GPHC number
Date and Time they became RP
- Date and time they stopped their role of RP - If absent - Date,time pharmacist left and retuned

A

Establish,maintain and review pharmacy procedure

Cover following:
- arrangements to secure medicinal products ie.ordering meds
- non pharmacist colleagues member giving advice:
Eg,when non pharmacist colleagues( counsel assistants or dispensers) can give advice
- who are the staff- their roles and responsibilities

  • what if there’s a change in RP
  • Complaint procedures and what to do about it
  • How to notify staff
  • Keep pharmacy procedure
  • writing/electronic record

  • be available for inspections and review regularly once every 2 years or following an incident
