1. Robeispierre follower a policy of severe crime and punishment. All those he saw as enemies; ex nobles, clergies, aristocrats, mmembers of opposing parties, even members within his own party who opposed his violent methods, were arrested, imprisoned and tried by revolutionary tribunal. If the court found them ‘guilty’ they were guillitioned.
