A clause is a group of words with a subject and a verb.
What are the two types of clauses?
- The independent clause
- The dependent clause
What’s the difference between the independent clause and the dependent clause?
The independent clause can stand on its own, while the dependent clause cannot stand on its own.
The combination of clauses leads to what?
The formation of a sentence.
What is a sentence?
The sentence is the largest unit of grammar. This is because it has independent clause and the independent clause is a simple sentence.
