How did the July Days Start?

A

The July Days were started by anarchists, who convinced soldiers to join an anti government demonstration.

Why did the Bolsheviks get involved?

A

They got involved because they believed that it was the perfect time to overthrow the P.G in the same way that the 1917 Revolution overthrew the Tsar. Tens of thousands of workers and soldiers marched calling for power to the soviets.

Why did the Bolsheviks fail?

A

The Petrograd soviet did not trust the Bolsheviks and worked together with the Provisional Government to stop the uprising. On 5th July, troops were brought back to surround the Bolshevik headquarters. They arrested hundreds of Bolsheviks including Trotsky.
