What is chronic kidney disease?
A
Long-term condition characterized by the gradual loss of kidney function over time.
When kindeys lose function and become damaged they can’t filter waste products so these will build up in the body.
5 stages of CKD based on glomerular filtration rate

What are included in waste products?
A
- urea
- creatinine
- sodium
These arent particular harmful - potassium- defintely harmful
- calcium, phospohate, and magnesium
