what did the arms act 1878 stated?
the Britishers introduced the arms act in 1878 which disallowed the Indians to possess any arms.
explain vernacular act 1878?
this act stated that the British govt. could confiscate the assets of any local newspaper chain if it publishes any thing objectionable/ against the British govt.
what did the Ilbert bill stated?
the Ilbert bill provide trial of Europeans by the Indians and sought equality between British and Indian judges.
why did govt withdrew the Ilbert bill?
due to white opposition, the government had to withdraw the bill. the indians were enraged with this decision.
explain how INC was considered ‘ MODERATE’ in its early years?
~ demanded a greater voice for Indian the government and adminstration.
~ wanted legislative councils to given more power, made more representative and to be introduce in areas where none existed.
~ demanded that Indians to be placed at higher positions in the government.
