A

Young people from poor backgrounds had access to holidays and facilities they couldn’t previously afford. HY provided many with self-confidence and a sense of purpose. Although they started to get become irritated by the lack of freedom.

The Mittelstand (Lower Middle Class): How did they benefit

A

Skilled craftsmen found a lot of work.
Guilds became compulsory for all artisans.
Department stores faced increasing tax restrictions, which placed extra taxes on them and banned opening of new stores.

The Farmers: How did they Benefit?

A

Received protection from creditors; tariffs were increased on imported food to encourage autarky.
Reich Entailed Farm Law prevented smaller farms being sold or mortgaged.
Farmers payed less mortgage interest and less tax.
Those in danger of losing their farms due to debt were saved

Big Businesses: How did they benefit?

A

Big businesses supplied great support to the Nazis and were well rewarded by the destruction of Social Democrats and Communists.
Many large businesses involved in rearmament did well and increased profits during war as they employed salve labour.
The Aryanisation of business created opportunities to take over Jewish Business.

Workers: How did they benefit?

A

Nazi rule saw them return to full employment.
Conscription, compulsory, labour service, the removal of women caused a fall in unemployment rates from 6m to in 33 to 300 000 in 39.

Strength through joy: How did it benefit?

A

Leisure opportunities increased dramatically especially during the poorest workers.
Car ownership doubled by 36.
StJ organised a myriad of entertainments, from sport coaching to opera. KDF never missed an opportunity to mix entertainment with propaganda.
