Do healing miracles happen today? Argue FOR
Yes, because God is the same today as yesterday and there are many reported healings such as those at Lourdes that cannot be explained by medical science alone
Do healing miracles happen today? Argue AGAINST
No, as there are always natural ways of explaining healings. Sometimes the mind can give people unusual inner strength. Also, many so-called miracles are only short term improvements
Is it wrong for doctors to allow the very sick to die? Argue FOR
Yes, it’s wrong for them to ‘play God’. Instead, they should focus on relieving their pain and allowing them to die with dignity at God’s time. Dame Cicely Saunders set up the hospice movement with this aim
Is it wrong for doctors to allow the very sick to die? Argue AGAINST
No, it’s not wrong because it’s cruel to make someone go through a lot of pain and disability. It would be more caring to let them end their lives when they want to do so with their family around them
