Q

What didn’t he like about indulgences

A

People paid the Church money and in return they were told they would spend less time in purgatory. Luther thought this was wrong and immoral.

He believed that people could pray to God directly for forgiveness – they should not have to buy it from their Priest.

that the Bible, rather than the Pope, should be the greatest source of guidance for Christians.

Q

What did he do about the bible being in Latin?

A

Luther and other reformers translated the Bible into their own language (German).

This meant that people no longer had to rely on a Priest to tell them what the Bible said. They could read it for themselves.
