Rome became an empire because of Julius Caesar.Julius was a very generous man who offered fair taxes to the unemployed and sold land cheap and that's why people loved him.He was powerful enough to rule Rome without a senate.He was killed by the members of the senate by stabbing him 23 times.Julius Caesar's adopted son,Emperor Augustus then ruled Rome alone.Ever since then,Rome was ruled by an emperor.
