(16 cards)
The steps of scientific method in order
Ask a Question. Do Background Research. Construct a Hypothesis. Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment. Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion. Communicate Your Results.
Why psychology is considered to be a science
It’s considered to be a science because it uses the scientific method to accomplish it goals
Hypothesis
When you predict what’s going to happen
Independent variable
What the researcher is changing

An example
a medical study will use two groups, giving one set of patients the real medicine and the other a placebo, in order to rule out the placebo effect.
