What is the role of the frontal lobe?
A
- concerned with decision making, planning and consciousness of emotions
- it sends information to the body via motor neurone to carry out movements

What is the role of the parietal lobe?
A
- concerned with orientation, sensation, calculation recognition and memory

What is the role of the temporal lobe?
A
- concerned with processing auditory information like hearing, sound recognition and speech
- also involved in memory

What is the role of the occipital lobe?
A
- the visual cortex and is therefore concerned with processing information from the eyes, including vision, colour, shape recognition and perspective

What is the role of the cerebellum?
A
- co-ordinates muscle movements, maintains posture and balance

What is the role of the brain stem?
A
- relay centre connecting the cerebrum and cerebellum to the spinal cord so is concerned with breathing, heart rate, body temperature sneezing, coughing, vomiting etc.
