A noun, adjective, etc. that “complements”, modifies, describes the subject.

No, there are descriptive modifiers ie. “subjective complements”

A
Be verbs and linking verbs.

A
“She gave an interview.” she (the subject) gave (transitive verb) an interview (direct object- subject is performing a direct action on/with this word). (Pattern 7 - s - tv - do)
“She gave the reporter an interview.” The reporter is the indirect (secondary) object.
