Why the order of oil and wine?
The substance poured in first is the oil of compassion and goodness. The wine that is poured in afterward is righteousness, mercy, and truth. First attending to physical needs, and then the soul.
James 2:15-17 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, (may your soul) be warmed and filled; notwithstanding not giving them those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?
