What is adultery?
Having an affair, a sexual relationship with someone you are not married to

When a person is legally old enough to freely agree to have sex
What is annulment?
The cancellation of a marriage
What is civil marriage?
Marriage solemnised as a civil contract without religious ceremony
What is commitment?
State or quality of being dedicated to a cause
What is continence?
Not having sexual relations; to be celibate
What is chastity/abstinence?
Strict restriction of sexual relations before marriage
What is cohabitation?
Living together as a couple
What is contraception?
The methods used to prevent a pregnancy from taking place
What is consent?
The binding agreement between two sides
What is covenant?
An agreement
What is divorce?
Legal dissolution (ending) of a marriage
What is extended family?
A family that extends beyond just parents and their children (grandparents and other relatives)
What is family planning?
Using contraception to control how many kids
What is gender discrimination?
Acting on prejudices against someone because of their gender
What is gender equality?
The idea that people should be given the same rights and opportunities regardless of gender
What is heterosexual?
Sexually attracted to the opposite sex
What is homosexual?
Someone physically attracted to the same sex
What is nuclear family?
A couple and their dependent children regarded as a basic social unit
What is polygamy?
The practise or custom of having more than one wife at the same time
What is procreation?
Brining babies into the world; producing offspring
What is remarriage?
When someone marries again, after a previous marriage/s have come to an end
What is responsibility?
A duty to care for, or having control over, something or someone
What is sex before marriage?
Sexual relations prior to being married
What is single parent family?
A parent who lives with their child and has no other partner
What is wedding rites?
Promises made in a wedding ceremony
What is the age of consent in the UK?
16-years-old
What are Christian attitudes towards heterosexuality?
A part of God’s plan, they should be united together and ‘increase in number’
What are Christian attitudes towards homosexuality?
Written that sexual relationships between two men are forbidden

What is the Church of Englands standpoint on homosexuality?
Welcomes those who are in a faithful committed relationship, but does not allow marriages in the church
