“The warm bath theory” where the married couples relationship provides relief against problems within society which strengthens the couples bond
Each partner acts as emotional security for the other and provides a balance to the stresses and strains of modern day life
The family relieves the pressures of everyday life and recharges the battery of individuals as they are usually isolated from their extended families
