What is a pro-numeral multiplied by another pro-numeral notated
2 pro-numerals multiplied by each other are notated by placing the 2 next to each other. e.g. a * b = ab
What is a constant
A numeral which will always stay constant e.g. 12
When can you add/minus like terms
NEVER
What is a variable
A numeral that will vary. A number which is attached to a variable is also a variable. e.g. 2a or b
What is a coefficient?
A coefficient is a constant that is converted variable when multiplied by another variable. e.g. 3 -> 3a
What is a reciprocal.
A reciprocal is a multiplication sum that can be reversed, yet still make sense. e.g 3 * a’s reciprocal is a * 3.
What is the standard equation in algebra
The standard equation for algebra is multiplication. When 2 numerals are together they will be thought of as multiplication. e.g. 3 * a = 3a
What is 2 of the same variables multiplied.
2 of the same variable multiplied will be the coefficient multiplied by the other coefficient. after that the pro-numeral is written down as a square. e.g 3a * 3a = 9a^2
What is 2 terms added.
2 terms added will simply be the coefficients added together.
e.g. 3a + 3a = 6a
What is 2 terms removed from another.
2 terms removed from another is the first coefficient minus the second.
e.g. 3a - 2a = 1a
What is a variable divided by another variable.
A variable minus another variable is shown by the following working.
6a 2
— -> — -> 2
3a 1
If without a written coefficient what is the standard coefficient value
