Multiple lesions
Cells take up iodine
Asx thyroid mass + CLN spread

Parafollicular cells (C-cells)
⬆️calcitonin
Association with MEN 2a+b
Middle and upper 1/3 of thyroid lobes
Diarrhoea, facial flushing (calcitonin)

15% of thyroid Ca
40-60y/o 🚺
Focal encapsulated lesion (not multifocal)

60-70 y/o 🚺
2% of thyroid Ca
Rapidly growing thyroid mass
Hoarseness and SOB (recurrent laryngeal nerve inv.)
Mass >5cm
