What is sick euthyroid syndrome?
T4 or T3 at abnormal levels with a seemingly normal thyroid gland. Can be from trauma, starvation, serious illness - seen in ICUs. THS, T4 and T3 can all be normal or reduced.
What happens with T3 levels in thyroid disorders?
Normal or decr in hypothyroidism (primary and pit dysfn) and in sick euthyroid syndrome.
Increased in hyperthyroidism

Decreased in hypothyroidism (primary and pit dysfn)

Thyroglobulin used to be called colloid. Antibodies to it are found Hashimotos > Grave’s
