Tissues Flashcards
(24 cards)
The Science which deals with the structure and function of the tissues.
Histology
Group of cell similar or different shapes performing specific functions.
Tissues
Tissues mainly used to cover the entire body.
Epithelial Tissues
Consists of a single layer of flattened scale-like cells.
Simple sqaumous
A layer of cube-like cells.
Simple Cuboidal
With only one layer of cells
Simple Epithelium
A layer of columnar cells described as elongated cells.
Simple Columnar
type of epithelial tissue with columnar cells.
Pseudo-stratified.
Consists of more than one layer of cells.
Stratified epithelium
With several layer of squamous cells
Stratified squamous
type of tissue which is to bind and support other tissue and organs together.
Connective Tissues
composed of cell and interconnected fibrils
Reticular Connective tissue
cells and fibers observed to be occupying the intercellar spaces.
Fibrous connective tissue
This consist of large, rounded cells containing fat.
Adipose
called a soft bone
cartillage
Identified as osteocycte
Bone or osseous tissue
contains fibers surrounded by a membrane called sarcolemma
Muscular tissue
attached to the bones
skeletal
found in the internal organs
visceral
muscles of the heart
cardiac
a fluid or liquid tissue with cells used to distribute body materials such as food, hormones, gases, and wastes.
Blood
transport oxygenated blood
RCB/ erythrocytes
They are the soldiers of the body because they fight infections
WBC/ Leucocytes
These are important in blood clotting.
Thrombocytes or blood platelets
