TOLD Flashcards
(11 cards)
1
Q
S1
A
vMCG - Minimum Control Speed - Ground
vCEF - Critical Engine Failure Speed
VROT & VR - Rotation Speed
vB Max breaking speed.
2
Q
Distance to Reference Zero
A
point in space at end of t/o flare distance at 50ft above runway elevation.
- (S1 = Vrot) – T/O ground run + Take-Off Flare = Ref Zero
3
Q
Minimum Control Speed (VMCA)
A
89 KIAS – Min control speed int/o config out of ground effect with single engine ops.
- Asymmetric thrust, light light, aft center of gravity
- Conditions:
o A/C is trimmed for t/o
o 5 degree AOB into op engine
o <=180 lbs of rudder force w/ rudder boost operation - Always less than t/o speed and not considered in t/o planning
4
Q
Critical Field Length
A
- Total length of runway required to accelerate on all engines to critical engine failure speed. Allows you to lift off or stop
- Used during t/o planning w/ climb out data to determine max gross weight for t/o and climb out
5
Q
Take Off Rated Thrust
A
- Max allowable thrust (n1)
- Varies: PA, ram air temp, and bleed air
6
Q
Max Continuous Thrust
A
- Max thrust used without a time limit
- Varies: PA, ram air temp
- Bleed air
- Note: Normally used for climbing flight
7
Q
Go-Around N1
A
- Max speed for go around determined by the same factors as MCT
8
Q
Take-off ground run
A
- Runway distance normally obtained in service ops at zero wind at mission specified weight, PA, thrust setting, ambient temp and config using lift off speed.
9
Q
Take-OFF Flare
A
- Left-off and the 50-foot obstacle height.
10
Q
Climb out speeds VCO
A
- Scheduled single engine climb out speed based on 1.2 times stall speed @ t/o weight.
- Should be obtained at or prior to reaching the 50-foot obstacle heigh.
- Two engine – VCO + 10 Knots (Due to excess thrust available with two engines)
11
Q
Speeds on FMD
A
V1 as S1
VR as VROT
V2 as VCO = Climbout Speed
VT as VCO + 15 (10 Flap), VCO + 5 (0 Flap takeoff)
