A
  • Hot Stop 1500L. Tested to 2000 degrees F
  • Survived 50 MPH winds
  • 60 minutes of fire exposure
  • Weighs 26.5 lbs
  • 8’ x 6’
  • Ribs - 5 high tempered Aluminum bars
  • Ropes - 4 3/8” diameter, 15’ long fire proof ropes. One at each corner of the rope
  • 4 S/S clips at ends of each rope.

The KO Curtain shall be inspected weekly during MUD and AFTER EACH USE.

A
  • Reflective stripes UP
  • Ropes UNCLIPPED
  • Rolled from the BOTTOM to the TOP
  • TOP ROPES are placed 5”- 10” from the TOP edges of the curtain.

In the event the KO Curtain is deployed and confiscated by the IC, what is the ladder company officer of the confiscated KO Curtain required to do?

A

The ladder company officer of the confiscated KO Curtain will prepare a brief letterhead report to the Chief of OPERATIONS detailing the use of the device and a description of any damage that may have occurred from the deployment of the device and forward a report via the chain of command with a COPY to the Chief of the FIRE ACADEMY.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is a company’s KO Curtain to be deployed for drill purposes.

If a company’s KO Curtain is damaged IN OTHER THAN fire operations, who will complete a letterhead report with all the details to the Chief of Operations?
Where is the replacement curtain obtained from?

A

The COMPANY COMMANDER will complete the letterhead report.

The replacement curtain shall be obtained from the DIVISION.
