Manual tap equipment
oldest form of tattooing using manual mechanism that has to be dipped into pigment to deposit color. Procedure time is usually a little long since the tapping will be manual. Will need to be autoclaved or disposed after first use to keep sterile.
27
Reciprocating coil machines
Came into existence in late 19th century (inventor Samuel O Rielly)
28
Organic pigments
Intensely colored organic solids made either from nature or synthesized in a lab usually bright in color not stable and prone to fading. Known to be less opaque.
29
What can be combined with carbon-based organic pigments?
nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen which are combined with metallic based materials such as alumina to prevent allergic reactions/ make the pigments less water soluble.
30
Inorganic pigments
Less intense but have longer life in the skin than organic pigments. They also have more opacity mostly comprised of iron oxide
