Q

Tell me a bit about yourself?

A

Well, I have always been interested in new Technologies and how they work and growing up I have always been the go to guy for fixing mums TV and Dads old Commodore 64.

I enjoyed taking apart and finding the correct information on how to repair and enhance friends and family’s electronic devices and computers and explaining how it all works.

I had started a degree in audio engineering then moved onto Multimedia focusing on web and video. After my course had finished I landed a position as a supervisor at the college I had studied at.

Not long after a had put my hand up to help out the I.T department as the college was expanding, at first just creating patch cables and data points, then assisting the National Team upgrading the I.T infrastructure on site from a new fit out to a working campus on schedule ready for new students.

Thus my career in I.T support began. I had been working for the college for around 5 years and obtained another position as a part-time I.T contractor at the same time servicing and being the sole I.T support for companies in and around Sydney and this continues and has been around 3-4 years with these 2 positions.

I have learnt to balance and prioritize tasks working with multiple companies.

That had led me to this current job advertisement that was focusing on new opportunities and an exciting place to work within a well-established company.

I certainly love what I do as my current employer encouraged me to go on holidays just recently, as I have had so many weeks owing.

A

I bring a unique combinations of strengths, experiences, and knowledge that will address the challenges your organization is facing better than anyone else.

I have worked in a dual boot environment for many years at SAE knowing the Mac and windows operating system very well. I have maintained user accounts using Active Directory and help setup and support a/v conferencing for specialist clients, students and investors.

My work @ Parameter has made me the sole I.T support for regular business clients in and around Sydney, supporting all servers, computers and equipment both remotely and on-site.

Having 2 jobs I have learnt to work well in a high-pressure environment and learnt to prioritize tasks and organization.

Q

What is your greatest weakness?

A

I am someone who keeps a busy schedule and enjoys getting a lot done. But at times, its hard for me to take a step back and get perspective..

I’ve learned that I need to push myself to look around for more efficient solutions and to ensure I delegate work to others or find a more streamlined solution to be as effective as possible.
