Q

What type of planet is Mercury?

A

Rocky planet with a fine layer of soil. It has craters and is the only planet with no atmosphere. Average temperature is about 168*C. It has no moons

18
Q

What type of planet is Venus?

A

It has a bare surface with a lot of volcanoes. With a thick atmosphere blocking people from seeing it. Its made of carbon dioxide which traps the heat from the sun making it very hot the average temperature is 500*C It has no water and no moons

19
Q

What type of planet is Earth?

A

Earth is the only planet that can sustain life. It has liquid its atmosphere contains oxygen and carbon dioxide. It is known as the blue planet. Its average temperature is 15*C and it has 1 moon.

20
Q

What type of planet is Mars?

A

Called the red planet covered in red dust. It has volcanic mountains including Olympus Mon which is 28km high. There is frozen water in deep craters in its poles. The dry river bed suggest there was once water. The atmosphere is thin and the average temperature is -55*C . It has 2 moons

It has 62 moons Its the furthest planet that can be seen without a telescope or binoculars. Its average temperature is -141*C

23
Q

What type of planet is Uranus?

A

Mainly made of frozen gas . Its a gas giant and it has hydrogen , helium and methane which gives it blue-green colour. The average temperature is -216*C

24
Q

What type of planet is Neptune?

A

It is also a gas giant also made out of hydrogen , helium and methane also giving it a blue-green colour. Its average temperature is -218*C
