What are the functions of the ovarian?

A

Oogenesis (produce gametes - fetal)
Secrete female steroid sex hormones (oestrogen & progesterone)
Controls hormonal environ. –> menstrual cycles
Secretion of peptide hormone inhibin -> neg. feedback to hormones released by CNS
