The poor law act of 1601
Principle that money raised through taxation should be used to provide food and clothing to the deserving sick disabled or elderly
No money to those who deemed to have caused their own poverty through laziness of getting a job

Requirements for new style JSA job seekers allowance

6.willing and able to attend regular JSA interviews

- The work related activity group includes those who can able to return to work . This group needs to attend meeting with a work coach
What if the people categorised into work-related activity group don’t show up to meeting with their work coach
Their benefits may be reduced (known as sanctioned)
