Q

Describe the research by Bickman et al

A
  • Aimed to investigate if how helpful people are is affected by the density of the population
  • method consisted of dropping addressed letters in a high, medium or low density dormitory. Measured helping behaviour by the % of letters posted to that address
  • results :
  • low density 88%
  • medium density 79%
  • high density 58%
  • suggests overcrowding can influence helping behaviour
