6
Q

what is unique about the force component in torque e.g. Fr

A

we are multiplying force by the radius, but the force component is actually perpendicular, not the angle at which the object is pushed, so we need to work out the perpendicular component

Q

what is the alternate formula for torque

A

tao = Fperp. x sintheta x r,

where theta is the angle between the force vector (perpendicular) and the r vector (horizontal)
