What was the effects of the use of torture ?
When it was used , convictions could go up to 95 percent but when the papacy didnt allow it and wanted more evidence , they would go down
What were some rules they introduced ?
Victims cant be killed
Preggers ladies and kids cant b tourtured
Only used when judge had stated a crime had been committed
Admission of guilt under tourture was not accepted as a guilt evidence
What was the impact of torture ?
Very few able to stand the pain of torture

What are some limitations of the use of torture ?
Legal systems in some countries banned its use like Spain , Italy and England
Torture often used when authorities lacked control
National courts were less severe than regional courts E.g France - Strong central authority saw less torture
Inquisition was more focused on enforcing orthodoxy than diabolism
