2- Often done by solo-travellers
3- Appeals to travellers seeking new destinations and experiences

1- A form of Niche Tourism
2- Responsible travel to natural areas that conserve the environment and sustains the well-being of the local people

2- Closely monitors cave conditions to minimise human impact on internal environment

5- Number of tourists limited
6- Maori gain income from being tour guides and receive part of entrance fee
